This article exists so the review template can be read as a page, not as a description of a page. It is a sample. No product was tested, scored, or recommended. If a sentence here sounds like a verdict, it is a verdict about the template.
The opening of a real review will replace this explanation with what was actually used and for how long. The furniture around that opening stays: a section, a title, a dek, a byline, a date, and a reading time.
Headings and ordinary text
A review needs room for a claim, then the detail under it. Second-level headings break the piece into those claims. Third-level headings are for a narrower note inside one of them.
A narrower note
This is a third-level heading. In a real review it might name a menu, a mode, or a setup choice. Here it only shows that the type scale changes.
A normal paragraph can link to something that exists. The rules this template is meant to serve are in How We Think About Reviews.
- A list can hold steps, findings, or conditions.
- Each item should be a thing the writer is willing to stand behind.
- These three items are about the list itself.
- Ordered lists are for sequences.
- This one has no procedure hiding in it.
- It ends here.
A markdown quotation looks like this. In a review it would be a line from the work, or from the writer, and the surrounding text would say which.
A score without a scale is a decoration. This sample refuses the number so the slot is visible and empty.
A table
Real reviews can compare settings, modes, or measurements. This table compares parts of the page.
| Part | What a real review puts here | What this sample puts here |
|---|---|---|
| Opening | What was used, and for how long | A statement that nothing was reviewed |
| Figure | A photograph or diagram of the subject | A diagram of the template |
| Score | A rating with a scale, or no score | An explicit non-score |
| Pros and cons | Observations from use | Notes about the component |
A figure
Pros, cons, and a score
A real review may use these. This page uses them so they can be seen. The lists are about the template.
Pros
- The page can hold a heading, a table, a figure, and a list.
- The score slot can be left without a number.
- A sample can be labeled as a sample in the title and on the card.
Cons
- A component that looks like a verdict will be misread if the label is shy.
- These rows are not findings from use.
- Nothing here should be quoted as a TDT Reviews rating.
Component demonstration. These are not judgments of a product.
What this page is for
When a real review is written, it will be a new article in a subject section. It will not be an edit of this sample that quietly removes the warning. This page can stay in the archive as the demonstration. The archive lists it with the others, and the label stays on it.
